Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The rotation of starting quarterbacks in Jacksonville will continue this week, as Chad Henne is expected to get the nod for Sunday's game against Denver with Blaine Gabbert battling a hamstring injury.
Gabbert was hurt in the third quarter of last week's game against St. Louis. He completed 9-of-19 passes for 181 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions before departing.
Henne took over and threw for 89 yards with a score on 7-of-13 passing in the 34-20 loss to the Rams, which dropped Jacksonville to 0-5 heading into a matchup with the unbeaten Broncos on Sunday.
"We feel like we're getting better as an offense," said Henne on Wednesday. "We had our best offensive performance, yards-wise, last week. If we just continue to get better, the points will show up and hopefully we'll get a win out of it."
Gabbert started the season opener, but suffered a hand injury and watched as Henne started the next two games. Gabbert was back under center for Week 4 and Week 5 before his latest setback.
In four games this season, including the two starts, Henne has thrown for 601 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. Gabbert has connected on 42-of-86 throws for 481 yards with one score and seven picks in his three outings.
