FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Reggie Hamilton scored a career-high 31 points and Oakland, Mich., shot 55.3 percent in an 86-68 victory over IPFW on Saturday night.
Hamilton went 9 of 14, including two 3-pointers, and made all 11 free throws as the Golden Grizzlies (12-8, 7-0) extended their Summit League lead.
Drew Valentine and freshman Ryan Bass scored 11 apiece for Oakland, which won its fifth straight and ran its league winning streak to 15. Keith Benson scored 10 points and blocked four shots, tying the league record with 317.
Frank Gaines' double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds led the Mastodons (11-6, 5-2). Ben Botts scored 12 points and Jeremy Mixon 10.
Oakland, which made 26 of its 47 shots, fell behind 47-45 with 14:52 left. But the Grizzlies ran off 15 in a row, followed shortly by another 13-0 run. They scored 41 points in the final 14:30.
