East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants have signed defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis, who spent his first four NFL seasons with the other tenant of MetLife Stadium, the New York Jets.

Ellis, known as a run stopper, has 66 tackles, including 40 solo, with one sack and a forced fumble in 47 games. He appeared in 14 games last season, posting nine tackles and his first career sack.

The 2011 third-round pick out of Hampton will try to help a Giants run defense that finished 30th in the league last season.
