Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Crawford went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and drove in a career-high six runs as San Francisco subdued Cincinnati by an 11-2 count in the third portion of a four-game series.
Brandon Belt went deep as part of a 3-for-5 performance which included two RBI and as many runs scored for the Giants, who have won four of their last six including the last two in this set.
Gregor Blanco went deep among his two hits and scored twice, with Casey McGehee posting an RBI in the rout. Hunter Pence made his season debut, going 2-for-3 with a double and scored three times.
Ryan Vogelsong (2-2) failed to last long despite his club's offensive output, working just 5 2/3 innings and allowing two runs on six hits while walking four.
Jay Bruce homered among his two hits and Skip Schumaker knocked in the other run for the Reds, who have lost five of eight overall.
"Any time you hit a home run, it's good," Bruce said.
Mike Leake (2-2) was torched over five full frames for 11 hits and nine runs.
The trouble for Leake started early. Belt cleared the wall in right with one away in the second to put the Giants on the board. It was 2-0 when Pence doubled and came home on a Crawford base hit.
Blanco reached the seats in right-center with one gone in the third and the visitors were up 3-0.
Leake's two-out double in the home half was Cincy's first hit and baserunner of the evening, but that was quickly erased when Crawford doubled home Pence and scored on a McGehee single to make it 5-0 in the fourth.
"I'm grateful to be back," said Pence, who was activated from disabled list on Saturday. "It was good to be able to be part of the team and to help contribute."
Leake loaded the bases with two down in the fifth by giving up singles to Buster Posey and Belt followed by a walk to Pence and Crawford's grand slam produced a 9-0 advantage.
RBI singles from Posey and Belt pushed San Francisco's lead to 11-0 in the sixth.
Bruce put the Reds on the board with a one-out solo blast in the home half. Later in the frame, pinch hitter Schumaker brought home Brandon Phillips courtesy of a double, but no further comeback was mounted by the hosts.
