San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants announced Thursday that pitcher Tim Hudson will miss his scheduled start Friday due to a hip strain.
Hudson allowed two runs on eight hits in a six-inning no decision his last time out against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. The 38-year-old right- hander is 4-2 with a 2.09 earned run average over eight starts this season.
Yusmeiro Petit will start in Hudson's place Friday when the Giants host the Miami Marlins in the second tilt of a four-game set from AT&T Park.
Petit has appeared in 11 games with two starts for the Giants this season, going 2-1 with a 4.85 ERA.
