Giants DE Tuck may sit due to sore neck
East Rutherford, NJ – New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck did not practice Thursday because of his lingering neck injury, leaving his status in doubt for Sunday's season opener in Washington.
"We have a plan and if Tuck plays, that is a bonus but we are ready to go," defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said. "We are going down to win a football game on Sunday and we are not crying. We are locked and loaded and this is a good challenge for us. We will be ready to play football."
Tuck, who was hurt in a preseason game against the Jets on August 29, was limited in practice on Wednesday but didn't practice a day later. He's coming off a season in which he compiled 12 sacks.
