East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants have signed former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond and safety/returner Quintin Demps.
Thurmond played in 12 games for the Super Bowl champions last season, recording 33 tackles, one sack and returning an interception for a touchdown. He also served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on substance abuse.
The 26-year-old Thurmond was limited to six games in 2011 and two in 2012 because of injuries.
Originally selected by the Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Thurmond recorded 85 tackles, one sack and one interception in 34 games with Seattle.
Demps registered 35 tackles and four interceptions in 16 games (six starts) last season with the Chiefs. He also averaged 30.1 yards on kickoff returns, including a 95-yarder for a touchdown.
The 28-year-old Demps has 126 tackles, one sack and seven interceptions in 64 career games with the Eagles, Texans and Chiefs. The Texas-El Paso product has also returned 96 kickoffs for 2,630 yards and two touchdowns.
