ATLANTA – Buck Farmer threw a five-hitter and Daniel Palka and Jake Davies each hit two-run homers in Georgia Tech's 12-2 victory over Austin Peay in the Atlanta Regional on Sunday.
The Yellow Jackets (42-20) needed to beat Mississippi State on Sunday night and Monday to advance to a super regional.
Farmer (11-3) allowed two runs, walked two and struck out nine against Austin Peay (34-24).
Georgia Tech led 3-0 in the first on Palka's 12th homer, while Davies' fifth homer came in the Jackets' five-run seventh.
Zach Toney (6-3) gave up eight hits and five runs with no walks and two strikeouts in 2 1-3 innings. The Governors were trailing 12-0 when they scored twice in the eighth.
