Basketball Hall of Famer Arvydas Sabonis is in stable condition after suffering a heart attack.
Doctors in Sabonis' hometown of Kaunas, Lithuania, said Wednesday that the former NBA player is in intensive care, but the heart attack is not life-threatening.
The 46-year-old Sabonis was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after going into cardiac arrest while playing basketball.
Sabonis helped the Soviet Union win gold at the 1988 Olympics, beating the United States in the semifinals. The 7-foot-3 center played seven seasons for the Portland Trail Blazers between 1995-2003.
He was recently inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
