PITTSBURGH – Former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva has found a second career in the NFL.
Villanueva is a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad. As a thank you for his service, the Steelers will bring the 26-year-old offensive lineman along when they travel to Tennessee to play the Titans on Monday night.
Villanueva played multiple positions during his college career at Army before becoming a rifle platoon leader. He earned a bronze start for rescuing wounded soldiers while under fire in Afghanistan.
While much of his Army career is classified, Villanueva shares what he can with his teammates and says the lessons he learned in the service are paying off now.
