Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will be held out of Thursday's preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a hamstring injury.
Falcons head coach Mike Smith told reporters Tuesday that Jones will be sidelined for precautionary reasons and is not expected to miss significant time.
Jones put together a stellar sophomore campaign last season, racking up 79 catches for 1,198 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Smith also said Tuesday that linebacker Sean Weatherspoon will miss Thursday's contest with a dislocated finger that he suffered during Monday's practice.
