Flowery Branch, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Atlanta Falcons cornerback Robert Alford was placed on injured reserve after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured wrist on Monday.

Alford started Atlanta's first 10 games but has missed the last four with the injury, which occurred during the Falcons' 19-17 win at Carolina on Nov. 16.

A second-round pick of the Falcons in the 2013 draft, Alford had three interceptions, 11 passes defensed and 36 tackles prior to being sidelined.
