Falcao scored his eighth goal of the season 1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Gabi and Eduardo Salvio also scored for Atletico, which has five victories and three draws at home this season. Despite the strong home record, with just one road win, Atletico sits 18 points behind rival Real Madrid, which is first.
Rayo Vallecano lost its third straight during a four-game winless skid.
Falcao set up the opening goal when he sent a through ball to Gabi, who scored to the upper left off a header in the 25th minute. Falcao added his goal off a pass from Diego, as he headed into the bottom right from close range.
Salvio added a third goal in the closing seconds, as he took a pass from Gabi and found the lower right from close range to hand Atletico a three-goal edge.
Gabi gifted a goal back late in stoppage time with an own goal.
Real Sociedad 3, Malaga 2
San Sebastian, Spain - Carlos Vela scored in the 89th minute and Diego Ifran in stoppage time as Real Sociedad stunned Malaga, 3-2, on Sunday at the Anoeta in La Liga.
Martin Demichelis' own goal handed Sociedad the lead after 10 minutes, but the visitors erased the error thanks to goals from Rondon and Sebastian Fernandez on each side of halftime.
Vela tied the match with a shot to the bottom left with 1 minute remaining in normal time, and Ifran added the winner off a cross from Imanol Agirretxe with a finish to the bottom right.
Sociedad won its second straight during a three-game undefeated streak. Malaga had its four-game unbeaten streak snapped.
Osasuna 2, Real Betis 1
Navarra, Spain - Javad Nekounam scored 3 minutes into stoppage time as Osasuna edged Real Betis, 2-1, on Sunday in La Liga at the Reyno de Navarra.
Miguel Flano opened the scoring in the 39th minute for Osasuna, but Betis tied the match through Ruben Castro in the 80th.
Nekounam sealed three points for Osasuna, as Betis slumped to its ninth defeat during a 10-match winless streak. Betis started the season with four wins in a row, but is now just one point above the relegation zone.
Osasuna won for the third time in its last five to secure a top-half spot.
Mallorca 1, Athletic Bilbao 1
Mallorca, Spain - Fernando Amorebieta scored in first-half stoppage time and Athletic Bilbao left the Estadio Son Moix with a point after a 1-1 draw with Mallorca on Sunday in La Liga.
Alvaro Gimenez scored in the 2nd minute for Mallorca, but Amorebieta's tally tied the score and the match ended 1-1. Bilbao has 18 points and sits ninth, while Mallorca is 15th after as it has just one win in its last eight.
Granada 1, Real Zaragoza 0
Granada, Spain - Odion Ighalo scored Granada's sixth goal of the season in 13 matches, as it edged Real Zaragoza 1-0 on Sunday at Los Carmenes in La Liga.
Granada extended its unbeaten streak to four matches as it surged three points above the relegation zone, and left Zaragoza buried at the bottom of the table with just 10 points from 14 matches.
