The NFL is a cutthroat business -- just look at now-former Chiefs receiver Junior Hemingway.
According to Terez A. Payor of the Kansas City Star, the team released its former seventh-round pick on Tuesday -- but not before a few transactions that had all the drama of a "Hard Knocks" finale.
It started when Hemingway was cut last week when the team shaved its roster to 75 players. But the former seventh-round pick went unclaimed on waivers -- probably due to a preseason hip injury -- that freed the Chiefs to place him on their injured reserve.
The team decided against keeping Hemingway around eight days later, though.
They released him completely -- and changed his employment status for the second time this month.
