Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell has sustained a fresh hamstring injury in training, casting doubt about his availability for Euro 2012.

Rodwell has battled hamstring problems throughout the season that have limited him to 14 appearances for the Toffees, including five matches in the past five months.

The 21-year-old managed to push his way into contention for the England team in the final two games for the Three Lions under former boss Fabio Capello, but has been injured during the time that caretaker boss Stuart Pearce took charge.

Everton manager David Moyes has said the club plans to send Rodwell to Germany to see a specialist, while he hopes his young star takes no part in the Euro 2012 campaign or summer Olympics.
