Eagles place OL Herremans on season-ending IR
Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Eagles placed offensive lineman Todd Herremans on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday with a dislocated bone in his right foot.
Herremans sustained the injury in the first quarter of Monday's 28-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
The loss of Herremans is the latest setback for an offensive line which has been crippled by injuries this year after starting left tackle Jason Peters ruptured his Achilles in the offseason and starting center Jason Kelce tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Week 2.
The eight-year veteran, who the club selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, made his 100th start in Monday's loss and has not missed a game since the 2009 season.
Philadelphia activated offensive lineman Julian Vandervelde from the practice squad to fill the roster spot vacated by Herremans.
Vandervelde, a fifth-round selection in 2011, appeared in just one game for the Eagles last season.
