Eagles' Foles among NFC weekly winners

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday after filling in for an injured Michael Vick and leading the Eagles to a win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Foles, in his first start of the season, completed 22-of-31 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns, including two to last week's offensive award winner, DeSean Jackson. Foles also rushed for a score in the 31-20 victory.

Vick sat out with a hamstring injury he suffered against the Giants in Week 5 and is still working his way back. The Eagles play the Cowboys at home Sunday.

Foles was just the eighth player in NFL history to complete at least 70 percent of his throws without an interception for 295 yards or more with at least three passing and one rushing touchdown.

Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis was named Defensive Player of the Week after posting nine tackles, two sacks and one pass defensed in a 35-10 win over the Vikings.

Dallas' Dwayne Harris had 222 combined kick and punt return yards in a 31-16 victory over the Redskins, including an 86-yard punt-return touchdown and a 90-yard kick return. He was the third player in NFL history with a punt and kick return of at least 85 yards in the same regular season game.
