PULLMAN, Wash. – Shawnta' Dyer scored 16 points and Shoni Schimmel added 14 to help No. 14 Louisville beat Washington State 75-71 on Monday night.
Schimmel had eight of her points in the last 2 minutes to help the Cardinals (11-2) secure the victory. Becky Burke also had 14 points for Louisville, which has won four straight.
Ireti Amojo had 22 points to lead Washington State (6-5).
After being down by nine points in the second half, Louisville came back to tie the game at 57 on Cierra Warren's lay-up with 6:16 left. That began a 10-0 run that put the Cardinal up 65-57.
Washington State's Sage Romberg hit a 3-pointer with 12 seconds to cut the lead to two, but a technical foul called on Coach June Dougherty for excessive timeouts sealed the win for Louisville.
