BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Damiyne Durham sank a career-high eight 3-pointers to lead Cal State Bakersfield to a 77-70 win over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday night.
Durham finished with 30 points, also a career best, on 11-for-27 shooting and his eight from long range tied a school record. Jaylin Airington added 18 points with seven rebounds and Dedrick Basile had 11 points for Bakersfield (2-1), which had 14 steals.
Tied at 62 late in the second half, Bakersfield sealed the win with a 12-2 run that included a 3-pointer from Airington followed by a bucket from Basile to make it 74-64 with 1:03 left.
Santa Barbara (0-3) led most of the first half and took a 37-35 advantage into the break. Jalen Canty had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Gauchos, Eric Childress scored 14 points, Gabe Vincent added 13 and Max Heidegger also had 11.
