SAN DIEGO (Reuters) Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder AndreEthier broke a bone in his right pinkie finger in batting practice before the team's game against the San Diego Padres on Friday.
Ethier currently leads the National League in all three Triple Crown categories , batting average (.393), home runs (11), and runs batted in (38).
"It was a freak thing," Ethier told reporters. I was in the cage hitting and I've done this a few times, where my finger gets pinned under the knob of the bat and it gets sprained or bruised. This time it gave way."
