TORONTO – Scott Dixon might have run out of IndyCar-approved engines. That doesn't mean the veteran driver has stopped believing he can contend for the series championship.
He intends to "roll with it" in preparing for the Honda Indy race in Toronto on Sunday.
The third-place driver's comments on Thursday came after IndyCar announced he is the most notable of five drivers on their fifth and final engine with six races left this season. And that means Dixon is in a position to drop 10 spots on the starting grid in the next race if he switches to a new engine.
By comparison, points leader Will Power has one fresh engine still available. Second-place Ryan Hunter-Reay is in an even better position with two to spare.
