Radek Stepanek and Tomas Berdych followed up their singles victories from Friday with a doubles triumph Saturday to send the Czech Republic past Italy and into the Davis Cup quarterfinals.

Stepanek and Berdych were late additions to Saturday's lineup as the Czechs tried to finish off the Italians, and the move paid off as the duo posted a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win over Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace in just under two hours.

Friday's matches were a little more strenuous for the Czechs, as Stepanek slugged through nearly four hours to notch a five-set win over Andreas Seppi and Berdych needed four sets to dispose of Simone Bolelli.

The Czechs improved to 8-3 all-time against Italy and will next face the winner between Serbia and Sweden in April's quarterfinals.
