Curran's goal leads Ross County to another win

Dingwall, Scotland ( - Craig Curran's goal in the 33rd minute was enough to help Ross County to a 1-0 home win over Partick Thistle, the club's fourth successive victory.

Ross County was stuck on the bottom of the Scottish Premiership for much of the season, but the four-match winning run has now moved the team three points clear of last-place St Mirren, while Partick sits just two points above Ross County.

An entertaining opening 20 minutes saw both sides generate chances, but the hosts grabbed the lead in the 33rd after a dangerous cross from Raffaele De Vita bounced around the penalty area and eventually was nodded home by Curran.

Lyle Taylor had the ball in the net for Partick in the second half, but it was ruled out for offsides, and the visitors saw their chances greatly reduced in the 59th when they were reduced to 10 men following a red card for Kallum Higginbotham after a poor challenge on County's Michael Gardyne.

Despite playing up a man, County spent the latter stages of the game pinned back in defense, but the hosts held on for a valuable win and nearly added a late goal on the break as substitute Filip Kiss had his effort denied by a great stop from Partick goalkeeper Paul Gallacher.

Saturday's other fixture saw Motherwell and Kilmarnock battle to a 1-1 draw despite Killie playing the entire second half with 10 men after a red card to Darryl Westlake.
