Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith has been named the NHL's First Star for the month of February.
Smith put on an impressive performance in February, winning all 11 of his starts, posting a 1.42 goals-against average and stopping 315-of-331 shots for a .952 save percentage.
The 29-year-old Smith, who set a franchise record for consecutive wins, helped the Coyotes jump from 12th place in the Western Conference at the start of the month to the Pacific Division lead.
Second Star honors went to Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson, who amassed seven goals and 11 assists during an eight-game point-scoring streak that he carries into March.
Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos rounded out the monthly stars. The 22-year-old had 11 goals and 22 points in February.
