Joe Hoban scored 22 points and Yaw Gyawu added 21 to lead Colgate to a 79-72 victory over Holy Cross on Thursday night.

The Raiders (4-16, 2-4 Patriot League) shot 55.4 percent from the floor (31 of 56) and outrebounded the Crusaders 34-23 to win for the third time in four games.

Colgate controlled the second half until Holy Cross (4-16, 3-3), which has lost three of four, cut the deficit to 74-70 on Devin Brown's 3-pointer with 43 seconds to play.

The Raiders scored the next five points as Gyawu dunked, Hoban hit a free throw and Gyawu followed with two more foul shots for a 79-70 lead with 8 seconds left.

Sterling Melville added 11 points and Nick Pascale had 10 rebounds for Colgate.

Brown scored 20, Mike Cavataio had 17 and Andrew Keister and Jordan Stevens added 12 each for Holy Cross, which shot 56.7 percent from the field (17 of 30) in the second half.
