Darren Clarke withdrew from The Masters on Monday with a hamstring injury.
Clarke, the 2011 British Open champion, said on his website that he pulled a hamstring while on vacation more than a week ago. Due to the injury, Clarke will be unable to play the year's first major this week at Augusta National.
"It is with deep regret that I will not be able to play at Augusta this year," said Clarke on his website. "Playing in The Masters is one of golf's greatest pleasures and I am very disappointed to be missing out."
Clarke, who has played 11 Masters tournaments, has missed the cut in his last two appearances at The Masters. His best finish was a share of eighth place in his first start in 1998.
