City fines Kolo Toure for failed drug test

Manchester City fined Kolo Toure six month ban, the Premier League club said Tuesday.

Toure failed the test earlier this year, claiming the substance was his wife's diet pill, but a long suspension was handed down nonetheless. His suspension ended in early September, and has made five appearances in all competitions.

"Kolo accepts the decision and he and the club now wish to draw a line under this matter and focus on the season ahead," City released in a statement.

City leads the EPL with an unbeaten mark through 11 games, including 10 wins, and is second in Group A of the Champions League with two matches left in the stage.
