Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Stewart and Connor Cink combined to shoot their second straight 11-under 61 on Sunday to earn a 3-stroke victory at the PNC Father/Son Challenge.
The Cinks finished the tournament at 22-under-par 122 to become the first duo since the inaugural tournament in 1995 (won by Ray Jr. and Raymond Floyd) that won the title in their first appearance.
They held a 1-stroke advantage entering the final round, but a bogey at the second dropped the Cinks behind the team of Steve and Sam Elkington.
The Cinks would not catch up to the Elkingtons until Connor rolled in a 20- foot eagle putt at the 14th to move to 18-under and reclaim a share of the lead.
Stewart followed with a pair of birdie putts at the 15th and 16th to pull ahead for good and closed with a 22-foot eagle putt at the 18th to account for the final margin.
The Elkingtons carded a 9-under 63 during the final round to finish in a tie with Vijay and Qass Singh (61) for second place at 19-under 125.
Dru and Davis Love III (63), the 2012 champions, took fourth at 17-under.
Jack and Gary Nicklaus (65) and Curtis and Thomas Strange (63) shared fifth at 16-under, while the Floyds (63) and Hale and Steve Irwin (65) occupied seventh at 15-under 129.
NOTES: First-round leaders/co-leaders have now gone on to win this tournament 12 times over the past 16 events ... The format of this tournament was a two- day scramble ... The 20-team field was the largest in event history ... In order for a father to qualify, he must have won a professional major title.
