Chiefs awarded Banks on waiver claim

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have been awarded rookie tight Leroy Banks on a waiver claim from the Atlanta Falcons and picked up two rookie defensive players.

Kansas City signed defensive lineman Jeffery Fitzgerald and defensive back Andre Jones, both rookie free agents. Fitzgerald played 12 games for Kansas State last season and Jones was a two-way player in 47 games at Akron.

Banks played 23 games in two seasons at Southern Mississippi, catching 34 passes for 462 yards for four TDs.
