CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Chicago Blackhawks boosted their offensive firepower Wednesday by acquiring forward Michael Frolik in a trade with the Florida Panthers.
Chicago, last season's Stanley Cup champions, also received goaltender Alexander Salak from Florida and sent forward Jack Skille and prospects Hugh Jessiman and David Pacan in the other direction, the NHL's official website (NHL.com) reported.
The 22-year-old Frolik has eight goals and 21 assists this season and scored 21 goals in his past two seasons.
Chicago are struggling to make one of the Western Conference's playoff spots this season.
