Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. retained his WBC Middleweight belt on Saturday with a seventh-round technical knockout of Andy Lee at the Sun Bowl.

Chavez (46-0-1) had Lee on the ropes in the seventh and was peppering him with a series of punches when the 6-foot-2-inch challenger briefly opened up, attempting to counter.

Taking advantage, Chavez caught the southpaw flush with a right hook. The blow caused a dazed Lee (28-2) to lurch forward and Chavez unleashed another flurry before the referee stepped in, calling an end the bout.
