(SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Celtics continue their homestand Monday night when they welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves to TD Garden.
The Celtics are 1-1 on the stay at home with a loss to Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday and a victory over the New York Knicks on Friday.
In the 90-86 win over New York, the Celtics shot 48 percent from the field compared to 40 percent for the Knicks.
Jared Sullinger led the way for the C's with 19 points, followed by Courtney Lee, who had 18 points in just 19:05 of action. Avery Bradley and Brandon Bass both scored in double figures.
Boston trailed by five to start the fourth quarter, but prevailed to halt a two-game skid.
"We needed to have a lead, lose it, be backed up against the wall, and figure out a way to win," Boston head coach Brad Stevens said.
Now the Celtics welcome Minnesota on this five-game homestand. Detroit and Washington both head to Beantown this week. Although no one in Boston is looking past Monday's tilt.
"I think they're really good, and I'm not going based on records or anything like that," Stevens said. "I'm going on the way I've felt twice in the building with them. I think they're really a good basketball team."
The Wolves got back to .500 on Sunday with a 101-93 road win over the Memphis Grizzlies. That was Minnesota's third win in its last four attempts and halted an 11-game losing streak at the hands of Memphis.
"I can't (remember winning in Memphis). It's been a long time, if ever, that we've won in Memphis. It's a very tough place to play," said All-Star forward Kevin Love.
He was the game-high scorer with 30 points, followed by 19 from Nikola Pekovic. J.J. Barea finished with 15 off the bench and Ricky Rubio chipped in 12 points.
In the third quarter against Memphis, Wolves head coach Rick Adelman pulled guard Kevin Martin, claming he didn't look right. Martin is not listed in the injury report and is expected to go against the Celtics.
The Wolves have the Portland Trail Blazers at home on Wednesday, then head to Los Angeles for a pair of games with the Lakers and Clippers.
The Timberwolves bested the Celtics, 106-88, at the Target Center on Nov. 16. Boston has owned this matchup, going 12-4 in its last 16 and winning seven straight at home.
