Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao had successful surgery to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon.
The club made the announcement on Friday, shortly after Dr. Brian Donley performed the procedure with Cavaliers physician Dr. Richard Parker and Dr. James Rosneck assisting.
Varejao is still on track to miss the remainder of the season while undergoing rehab. He had collapsed under the basket while going for a rebound during the third quarter of Cleveland's 125-104 win on Tuesday and had to be helped off the court.
The 32-year-old averaged 9.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season.
