The Arizona Cardinals released quarterback John Skelton on Monday.

Skelton made six starts and played in seven games with the Cardinals last season, but completed just 54.2 percent of his passes for 1,132 yards with two touchdowns, nine interceptions and two fumbles lost.

A three-year veteran, he has completed 53.2 percent of his pass attempts for 3,707 yards with 15 touchdowns and 25 interceptions over 20 games -- 17 starts.

The team also announced on Monday that quarterback Brian Hoyer, running back William Powell and defensive end Ronald Talley all signed their tendered contracts for 2013.

Hoyer appeared in two games last season with Arizona and threw for 330 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Powell carried the ball 60 times for 217 yards and added 19 catches for 132 yards in 2012, his rookie season.

Talley totaled eight tackles and a sack in three games last season.
