The final game of the St. Louis Cardinals' series at Florida has been postponed because of rain. No makeup date was immediately announced.

The game started 55 minutes late Sunday, then was halted with two out in the top of the first inning and no score. The postponement came after a wait of 3 hours, 7 minutes.

The Cardinals, who began the day 1½ games behind the NL Central-leading Reds, start three-game series Monday at Cincinnnati.

The Marlins are off Monday. They play 16 of their next 19 games on the road, starting Tuesday at Washington.
