The Arizona Cardinals released guard Adam Snyder on Monday after only one season with the team.

The Cardinals signed Snyder to a five-year contract in March of 2012 following a seven-season stint with NFC West rival San Francisco, and the versatile veteran started all 14 games in which he appeared in this past year. He was deemed expendable, however, after Arizona selected North Carolina guard Jonathan Cooper with the seventh overall pick in Thursday's NFL Draft.

Arizona also took another guard, James Madison's Earl Watford, in the fourth round.

Prior to joining the Cardinals, the 31-year-old Snyder made 69 starts over four different positions along the offensive line for the 49ers from 2005-11.
