New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Kekuta Manneh was named the Player of the Week on Monday for Week 33 of the 2013 Major League Soccer regular season.
Manneh scored his first career hat trick and became the youngest ever player to record a hat trick as the Whitecaps hammered Seattle Sounders FC by a 4-1 count last Wednesday at CenturyLink Field.
Manneh opened the scoring for Vancouver just 12 minutes in and found the net again three minutes before the intermission before completing his hat trick in the 54th minute to keep Vancouver's playoff hopes alive for another week.
The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week by the North American Soccer Reporters. The group consists of members of online, print, television, and radio media.
