BOSTON (Reuters) - The Washington Capitals posted a team record 11th consecutive victory Tuesday after beating the Boston Bruins 4-1.
David Krejci gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead in the first period before the Capitals hit back with four unanswered goals beginning with Mike Knuble's tip-in at 2:04 in the second.
Brooks Laich, Boyd Gordon and Alex Ovechkin added goals in the third period as the Capitals broke the team mark established in 1984. Ovechkin's goal was his 36th of the season and his 77th point.
The Bruins (23-22-9) lost an eighth successive game for the first time since the 1955-56 campaign.
