Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Luca Sbisa scored the winner 36 seconds into overtime as the Vancouver Canucks grabbed a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday.
Sbisa was able to bank the puck out of his zone and Radim Vrbata caught up to the puck in the neutral zone. Skating down the left wing, Vrbata passed the puck over to the left where Sbisa was able to gather the disc and wrist it in for the win.
Alexandre Burrows and Ronalds Kenins scored goals for the Canucks, who had lost three of four coming into the game. Eddie Lack turned aside 26 shots.
"The puck was bouncing around a bit, but we stuck to our game. We can't play like we're afraid to lose," Sbisa said.
Bryan Little had a goal and an assist and Blake Wheeler also scored for the Jets, who have lost their last five games. Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 30 shots in the loss.
"Our fight was right on ... I was pleased with everything but the outcome," Jets coach Paul Maurice said.
The first goal came from Winnipeg just past the midway mark of the first as Wheeler got behind the defense and shot the puck in for his 15th goal of the season.
Less than three minutes later, the Canucks tied the game as Henrik Sedin held a clear in at the right point and got the puck to Daniel Sedin, who passed it over to the right circle where Burrows one-timed it home.
Winnipeg appeared to take the lead with just over three minutes to play in the second as Adam Lowry cleaned up a rebound, but Jacob Trouba had collided with Lack prior to the shot and the goal was waived off.
The Jets, though, did take a 2-1 lead 2:13 into the third on a power play as Alexander Edler had his stick break on a clearing attempt and Andrew Ladd picked up the loose puck, passing it over to the slot where Little one-timed it home.
Vancouver tied the game once again 10 minutes later when Kenins' shot from the left circle on a rush play found the back of the net for his second goal of the season.
