Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks came to terms with both of their 2013 first-round picks Tuesday, signing forwards Bo Horvat and Hunter Shinkaruk to entry-level contracts.
Vancouver selected Horvat ninth overall in the NHL Entry Draft in June before picking Shinkaruk with the 24th overall selection.
Horvat recorded 61 points over 67 regular-season contests with the London Knights before scoring a league-leading 16 goals through 21 games during the 2013 Ontario Hockey League playoffs.
The Rodney, Ontario native tallied the game-winning goal in Game 7 to clinch a berth in the Memorial Cup and earned Most Valuable Player honors for the OHL playoffs.
Shinkaruk registered 49 goals and 86 points in 64 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers during the 2012-13 campaign.
