Canada edges Italy to reach Davis Cup semis

Milos Raonic upended Andreas Seppi in four sets Sunday to lift Canada over Italy in their best-of-five 2013 Davis Cup quarterfinal.

The Canadian duo of Vasek Pospisil and veteran doubles great Daniel Nestor outlasted the Italian tandem of Daniele Bracciali and Fabio Fognini in Saturday's doubles rubber to give Canada a 2-1 edge.

Raonic, who had cruised past Fabio Fognini on Friday to even things, sealed the victory in the first singles rubber Sunday, besting Seppi, 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

This was the first-ever Davis cup meeting between the two nations.

Canada will next face Serbia, which used Novak Djokovic's win over Sam Querrey on Sunday to finish off the United States in their quarterfinal.
