TORONTO – Baylor University guard Brady Heslip scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter and Canada beat Jamaica 81-72 on Thursday night in a men's basketball exhibition game.
Levon Kendall added 16 points for the Canadians, while Jevohn Shepherd chipped in with 12.
Heslip shot 7 of 10 from the field, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range, helping Canada pull away after leading by only two at halftime.
Adrian Uter finished with 16 points for Jamaica, but just one in the second half. Former Cavaliers forward Samardo Samuels, who got tangled up with Andrew Nicholson of the Orlando Magic in the second half, added 15.
The teams play again Saturday.
