Josh Cameron scored 20 points as Coastal Carolina, the top seed from the South Division, beat Charleston Southern, 5th-seeded out of the South division, 73-68 in the quarterfinals of the Big South Conference tournament on Friday.

Coastal Carolina will play the second seed out of the North, VMI (19-11), in the semifinals on Saturday.

CCU (19-12) overcame its second-worst shooting performance of the season by dominating the glass, out-rebounding the Buccaneers 59-41, including 25-9 on the offensive end. CCU made 22 of 76 field goals (28.9 percent) and 9 of 36 from 3-point range (25 percent).

The Chanticleers scored the first seven points of the second overtime, including five straight from Cameron, and El Hadji Ndieguene — who grabbed 14 rebounds — hit two free throws with 12 seconds left to ice the game.

Charleston Southern (13-18) made just 1 of 7 field goals in the second overtime and 3 of 20 from deep for the game.

Arlon Harper scored 20 and Sheldon Strickland 19 for CSU.
