Malaga's unbeaten start to the new La Liga campaign continued on Saturday as a header from Nacho Camacho in the second half was enough to give the club a 1-0 win at Real Zaragoza.
The home side squandered a great chance to take the lead in the first half when Ndri Romaric missed an open net from 12 yards. And the miss proved costly as Malaga took the lead against the run of play 10 minutes after halftime.
Eliseu drove a corner kick into the area at the near post, and Camacho arrived at the ball before goalkeeper Roberto Gago, redirecting it into the net with his head to give Malaga the lead.
Zaragoza pushed forward for the equalizer, but it left the club exposed at the back and Javier Saviola nearly scored for Malaga in his debut as he struck the post on a rebound attempt.
Celta Vigo 2, Osasuna 0
Vigo, Spain - Celta Vigo collected its first win since returning to the top flight on Saturday as Iago Aspas and Mario Bermejo scored second-half goals in a 2-0 victory over Osasuna.
Joseba Llorente headed the ball against the crossbar in the first half for Osasuna, but Celta Vigo took over the after the break.
Aspas applied the final touch on a cross from Augusto Fernandez to put Celta in front with 21 minutes to play, while Osasuna went down to 10 men in the 83rd when Javi Arribas picked up a second yellow card.
Bermejo put the game away deep into stoppage time when he was played in on goal by Tono and slotted his shot past goalkeeper Andres Fernandez.
Deportivo 1, Getafe 1
Aragon, Spain - Deportivo and Getafe traded goals in the opening 30 minutes of a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Riazor on Saturday.
Deportivo scored after six minutes as former Getafe man Riki let loose a shot from outside the penalty area that proved too much for goalkeeper Miguel Moya.
But Getafe, which beat Real Madrid last weekend, battled back to equalize in the 26th minute as Abdelaziz Barrada ended up with a one-on-one chance against goalkeeper Daniel Aranzubia, who was unable to keep out the shot.
The result keeps Deportivo unbeaten through three games with a win and two draws, while Getafe has claimed four points from three games.
Mallorca 1, Real Sociedad 0
Mallorca, Spain - Mallorca moved to the top of the league table for at least 24 hours on Saturday after a second-half header from Victor helped the team to a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad.
It took until the 75th minute for Mallorca to break down the Sociedad defense, and it came from a Javi Marquez cross, which allowed Victor to cut in front of his marker and head the ball home from six yards.
The visitors nearly grabbed a quick equalizer when Mallorca goalkeeper Dudu Aouate parried a ball into the path of Xabi Prieto, but his shot was cleared off the goal line by Mallorca defender Anderson Conceicao.
