The "Cam Newton really is a darn good guy" tour made an unexpected stop this week.
Cam surprised a playground full of seventh graders in Davidson, N.C., by hopping the fence and tossing a football around with them.
One girl was so excited she shouted "Mom, get me, like, a picture" before her words just melted into an exhilarated shriek.
"I saw one girl crying and hyperventilating and when I asked, 'Sweetheart what's wrong?' she said, 'That was just the best moment of my life,'" teacher Mimi Siadak told WSOC-TV.
Cam said he was driving by and spotted a kid wearing his jersey. So -- dressed like the class president in a sweater and khakis -- he found a teacher and asked permission to hop the fence and toss the ball around with the kids.
Oh Cam, so appropriate. He posed for pictures, dabbed for 'em and did it all with his winning smile. Well played.
But wait, it gets better.
You see, the teachers used Cam's appearance as a learning tool, too.
Asked to illustrate personification in a sentence, and using Cam's visit in the example, one student wrote: "The football grinned with joy when Cam picked it up."
