Sainte-Julie, QC (Sports Network) - Mark Calcavecchia fired an 8-under 64 on Sunday to come from behind and win the Montreal Championship, his second victory on the Champions Tour.

Calcavecchia finished at 16-under 200 and won by 4 shots at La Vallee du Richelieu Golf Club.

Calcavecchia's other victory on the 50-and-over circuit came at last year's Boeing Classic.

Brad Bryant posted a 7-under 65 and took second at minus-12.

Second-round leader Bob Tway managed a 2-under 70, but it was only enough to share third place. Russ Cochran shot a 4-under 68 and matched Tway at 11-under par.

The final round didn't seem to start really well for Calcavecchia. Tway sank a long birdie putt at one, then Calcavecchia hit a terrible drive at the second, but caught a break when the ball made it through some trees.

"Bob made a 30-footer right off the bat on 1 and I hit that terrible drive on 2 and I wasn't looking real good at that point," admitted Calcavecchia.

He turned things around at the third, although once again, he caught a lucky break when his ball bounced out of the thick rough and into the primary cut. Calcavecchia hit a sand-wedge to 15 feet and made the birdie putt.

The birdie at No. 3 kicked off a great run for Calcavecchia. He kicked in a short birdie putt at four, then drained a 15-footer for birdie at the fifth. He parred six, but tapped in a short birdie putt at the par-5 seventh. Calcavecchia rolled in a long birdie putt at the eighth and was in command of the tournament.

After a nice par save at the ninth, Calcavecchia found a greenside bunker with his second at the par-5 11th. He blasted out to 5 feet and converted the birdie try.

Calcavecchia missed the green with his second at the par-5 16th. It hardly mattered. Calcavecchia chipped in for eagle and a lead that was too much for anyone to overcome.

"It was a great day," said Calcavecchia. "I putted great. You know, that's what it takes most of the time to win out here."

Leading money winner Michael Allen and Jay Don Blake both had 3-under 69s on Sunday and tied for fifth at 10-under 206. Craig Stadler carded a 3-under 69 and came in seventh at minus-8.
