Marcus Byrd scored 20 points and Cam Griffin hit two game-winning free throws Tuesday night and Denver came from behind to beat Southern U 75-74 in overtime.
Denver rallied to lead 32-28 at halftime and Southern took a 56-54 second-half lead on a layup by Yondarius Johnson at 2:59, but Denver tied it at 61 on free throws by Chris Udofia. Denver trailed 67-65 in OT on a trey by Johnson, but pulled ahead 75-71 on free throws by Griffin and survived as Johnson sank another trey at the buzzer.
Brett Olson scored 19 for the Pioneers (2-4), Jalen Love had 14, and Udofia scored 11 and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Johnson led Southern U (2-6) with 16, Calvin Godfrey and Damien Goodwin each scored 13, and Tre Lynch added 11.
The Jaguars outshot and out-rebounded Denver but were hurt by 21 turnovers, 12 steals and 9-of-17 free-throw shooting.
