Edson Buddle picked a fine time to score his first goal for the Colorado Rapids.
The striker joined the club during the offseason and opened his account in style, bagging the game-winner in the 86th minute to see Colorado earn a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.
Scoring chances were at a premium throughout the match, but Buddle gave the Rapids all three points by capitalizing on some slack defending from Toronto to fire home a right-footed shot from the center of the penalty area.
The win sees Colorado (3-4-3) improve to 12 points to climb to fifth place in the Western Conference.
Toronto (1-4-4) is winless in its last seven league matches and remains on seven points after dropping its second straight regular season contest.
