Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson was fined $60,000 by the National Football League for a helmet-to-helmet hit against Rams receiver Stedman Bailey last Sunday.
The Times reported the news on Friday, making it four disciplinary actions this season alone for the University of Washington product.
Goldson was suspended one game back on Nov. 18 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White in a 41-28 victory.
The violation of unnecessary contact was the third Goldson has been penalized for by the league office. He was fined $30,000 for striking a defenseless player in the head and neck area in Week 1 against the New York Jets.
He was then initially suspended for one game for making direct, helmet-to- helmet contact to a defenseless player in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, but the violation was reduced to a $100,000 fine after an appeal.
Goldson has played in 12 games this season in his first year with Tampa Bay, recording 67 tackles with one forced fumble and an interception.
