Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) -- Bruins forward Chris Kelly has a broken ankle and will not play in his club's game against the Maple Leafs.

Both TSN of Canada and the Boston Globe reported Sunday afternoon that the 33- year-old sustained the injury when slashed by Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis during Saturday's 3-2 home win over Pittsburgh.

Kelly has posted three goals and seven points in 28 games for the Bruins this season.

He is one of three B's who will not suit up later on at Air Canada Centre. Shawn Thornton faces an in-person hearing with the NHL for punching Pens defenseman Brooks Orpik in the first period, while forward Loui Eriksson will miss the game after suffering a concussion on a hit from Orpik earlier in the tilt.
